The mission outreach in Concepcion, Tarlac was initiated by Bro. Alex and Sis. Edna Cabatit because of their burden for the souls of their relatives there. This burden motivated the couple to visit the latter as often as they could to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. On one of their visits in December 2004, they requested Pastor Jed to come along for they invited the whole clan for a Christmas gift-giving. It was a good opportunity to have all of them hear the good news of salvation. It was also an opportune time for Pastor Jed to see the place and the people and to assess the possibility of sending a worker to regularly conduct Bible studies in the area. In the months following the occassion, Pastor Jed went to Concepcion every other week to establish contacts among the relatives and neighbors. In March 2005, the work was entrusted to Pastor Bebot Ragsac, who was then stationed in Villasis, Pangasinan, as Pastor Hitosis' associate. He followed up the contacts established by his predecessor, and in his house-to-house visitation, he was able to start two Bible studies for the youth in two neighborhoods. However, in October 2005, when Pastor Ragsac was given an additional workload in Gumaca, Quezon, his visits to Concepcion were reduced to twice-a-month. A year later, he was tasked to take charge of the outreach work in Tanauan, Batangas, making it almost impossible for him to go to Tarlac. Thus, his bi-monthly visits became once-a-month. As a result, a few Bible studies had to fold up. However, his Bible studies among the young people continued. In June 2007, Pastor Ragsac turned over the work to Sis. Linda Veracruz, who since that time has been regularly visiting the outreach on Saturdays. The lady missionary's focus is on the children and the young people formerly taught by her predecessor. She is also following up the mothers of the children she is teaching who are showing interest in the Word of God. |
